Mayhem in Owerri: IGP visits bombed police headquarters, correctional service

Mohammed Adamu

The Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, will visit the bombed Police headquarters in Owerri, today.

This was disclosed to newsmen in Owerri by Imo state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Orlando Ikeokwo.

Also, Adamu is said to have planned to visit the bombed facilities of the Owerri Correctional center, where hoodlums allegedly linked to the members of the Eastern Security Network (ESN) were said to have freed thousands of inmates.

It was gathered that the IGP would be having special security meetings to discuss the way forward.

Recall that yesterday, in a statement by its Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, IPOB denied its alleged involvement in the attack, saying it was not part of its mandate or that of ESN to attack security agents and their facilities, saying IPOB was formed on the principle of peace and is still on it since Biafra actualization was built on a peaceful approach.
